How We Make Custom Helmets

A labor of love

We love working with football headgear. For over 10 years, we’ve reconditioned facemasks for various football teams in the NFL, NCAA, and hundreds of high schools. From there, we expanded our love of helmets by turning them into art. By upgrading collectibles and field-use helmets, you can take a plain, out-of-the-box helmet and make it your own. We became the first and only business in the industry to offer free assembly of your helmet with its components. It’s our best offer and our favorite part of the job. We love seeing the imagination of our customers!

Taking it further

The helmet is a perfect, blank canvas; there are countless design possibilities when upgrading your helmet. We enjoy working with customers to bring their designs to life, but we want to expand the possibilities even further. By collaborating with businesses and platforms, we can create personalized, one-of-a-kind helmets.

How do we do it?

We offer tons of products to upgrade an ordinary football helmet with: visors, chinstraps, hardware, and more. For a completely custom build, we outsource services such as creating custom decals and painting. We couldn’t pull off these custom builds without our whole team!

How long does it take?

If you want to make an upgraded helmet, paint it, get artwork made into decals, and have it promoted on our YouTube channel, greatness takes time. We need the time to make your build right. Be sure to plan this build at least 2 months ahead for everything to be ready in time.

Is it expensive?

Creating a custom helmet is the best opportunity to go all out. There are a lot of costs that go into creating a custom headpiece, but there’s so much to get out of it! Getting a custom helmet made with Green Gridiron is an investment worth making. A custom helmet makes the perfect promotional piece for your brand or business. With several high-end upgrades and custom services, the total cost of a decked-out, custom build can reach over $1,000.

Working with a budget

There are ways to work with a smaller budget that still result in a beautiful build. Methods include using a youth helmet as a base, getting a very basic decal set done, and using budget-friendly upgrades. This helmet was made for $350 by using a Riddell Speed Victor Helmet!
