2024 Fantasy Football Expo Recap

Headed to Canton, Ohio

At Green Gridiron, custom helmets are what we do best. While in the process of creating a custom helmet for our friend Troy with the BayouBengal Fantasy Network,we learned that he’d be using his helmet as a display piece for The 2024 Fantasy Football Expo. We hadn’t heard of this event before! After some digging into the event, and some light convincing by Troy, we decided to take the Green Gridiron team to Canton, Ohio!

What is The Fantasy Football Expo?

In short, it’s THE greatest weekend in the Fantasy Football community. At the Fantasy Football Expo, you can expect to see tons of fantasy enthusiasts, leagues, networks, and more. We all gathered together for a 3-day weekend that consisted of networking, parties, fantasy drafts, speaking events, and booths filled with all of the Fantasy Football information you could imagine.

Seeing the potential in this event to connect with like-minded individuals, it was clear that we had to attend. The Green Gridiron team went to the Expo with the full intention of sharing our work on Football Helmets with hundreds of people that share a similar passion for Football, and broadening our community. For our first appearance as a company here, we knew we had one shot to go big or go home; we went in as a main sponsor for the Saturday Night Party.

Setting the Scene

Taking place in Canton, you might recognize this city as being known for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Over the 3 day event, the Expo kept us on our toes with new things and places to see each day. Starting Friday, we checked in at the hotel where we met the event organizers and were able to get a feel for the exciting atmosphere that Expo-goers brought to the event.

After checking in, we headed straight to the location of the actual Fantasy Football Expo in the Hall of Fame Village at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. We were excited to hear that all of the main Expo events would be held in the Center of Performance dome, a.k.a. the largest sports dome of its kind.

For the next two days, the team made sure to pay visits to key historical places in Canton such as the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, downtown Canton, and more. It was awesome to see so many fans in one place all for the same reason, Fantasy Football. Everyone brought the energy to learn, discuss, and most importantly, have a great time.

Helmet Talk

Although this was an exciting event for the team, we came to the Fantasy Football Expo to get down to business. We set up our booth filled with custom helmets, including over 50 Fantasy Football Expo branded mini helmets. We couldn’t skip on building a custom helmet for our show on YouTube: The Heads Up Show.

We had a goal: To show everyone that helmets aren’t just for players. They are also for fans, businesses, collectors, and they happen to make the best trophies for your Fantasy League. It’s more than safe to say that our team did exactly that. We were pleased to see the influx of people that came to our booth, asking what we do, pointing out their favorite helmets, and even wanting custom helmets of their own. Our team got to work, creating custom helmet renderings for folks looking to make a helmet of their own. We shared our work with Expo-goers, and interacted with other businesses through creating content and all around good discussion.

We accompanied the other activities at the Expo such as Flag Football, Draft Day, and parties. The Expo hosted a speaking event where we got to hear all sorts of Fantasy Football questions answered, insights into the knowledge of pros, and we even had a presentation of our own! Our Head of Marketing, Steve, got the chance to speak on stage and talk about all that we do here at Green Gridiron.

A highlight worth mentioning is that this Expo would be the official announcement of our collaboration with Trophy Smack. To make this possible, we held a custom Trophy Smack helmet giveaway to go to one lucky fan! It was wonderful to meet the team at Trophy Smack after months of talking online to bring this collaboration to life.

Ingrained in the Community

It didn’t take much convincing to prove that Football Helmets belong in the space of Fantasy Football. Whether it be as a trophy, incentive, or simply a display piece, the people quickly came to love the idea of custom helmets.

This event was the gateway to so many new projects and great connections for us. We were able to start working with many of the businesses attending the event. Not only did we gain these new connections that later turned into awesome custom helmet projects, but we learned so much about the vast community of Fantasy Football and all that it entails.
